Velzyn Wear manufactures custom baseball knickers for brands, distributors and teams — the knee-length pant worn with high socks — produced in Sialkot, Pakistan, in your colours, your piping and your own label.
A knicker exists for one reason: to show the sock. Get the length wrong and the whole look fails, no matter how good the fabric is. That is the decision this page is about, because it is the one nobody explains.
Length is the entire garment
Three lengths cover almost every order we take.
- Knee-length. The cuff sits on the knee. The traditional look, the one most high school and college programmes wear, and the safest choice for a first run.
- Three-quarter. The cuff falls just below the knee and covers less sock. Popular where players want a pant that reads closer to modern than retro.
- Above the knee. The old-school look, more sock than pant. It sells to throwback lines and to programmes that want to stand out.
Two things to settle before you order. First, measure from the waist, not from the floor — a knicker's length is set by the inseam, so a tall player and a short player in the same size need the same inseam, not the same hem height. Second, choose the length and the sock together. A knee-length knicker with a short sock leaves a gap of bare leg, and that gap is what people notice in the photographs.
The cuff, and why it loosens
The cuff has to grip below the knee through nine innings of running. When a knicker slides down mid-game, it is nearly always the cuff elastic that has gone, not the fabric.
We build ours with elastic set into a finished cuff rather than a raw band stitched on top, and the elastic is chosen for the leg opening rather than cut from one roll for every size. On your sample, stretch the cuff fully and let it go three or four times. If it stays out of shape, it will not survive a season of laundry — tell us and we change it before bulk.
One design, two garments
Knickers and full-length pants are the same design cut to different lengths. If you are launching a uniform line, run both from one artwork: the knicker for teams that wear their socks high, the full-length pant for everyone else. It costs one design and one approval, and it doubles the buyers a single colourway can serve.
Both count separately against the minimum, so ten of each, shipping together.
Piping and colour
Because a knicker shows less fabric, the piping does more work. A stripe down the outseam ends at the knee instead of running to the floor, so it reads shorter and sharper — and it has to line up exactly with the jersey stripe, since both are visible at once.
Give us the Pantone reference once. We apply it to the jersey, the pant and the knicker together, and keep it on file so a repeat order in six months matches rather than nearly matching.
Fabric
Knickers run in the same stretch woven as our baseball pants, because they take the same slides. Weight is recorded on your quote and printed on the spec sheet that comes with your sample, so there is no argument later about what was approved. If you have a knicker whose feel you want copied, send it — matching an existing garment is faster than describing one.
Sizing
Knickers are less forgiving than pants because the cuff has to land in a precise place on the leg. Waist, inseam, thigh and leg opening for every size are published in our baseball size charts before you order.
Youth grading matters here more than anywhere else in the range, since youth and travel ball is where most knickers are worn. A single run can carry youth and adult sizing side by side.
Ordering
Ten pieces per design, sizes free inside the run. Sample in 7–10 days from approved artwork, bulk 2–4 weeks after sign-off.
Terms are 50% deposit and the balance before dispatch, by bank transfer to our company account; Western Union and MoneyGram work for samples and small opening orders. Every pair carries your woven label, not ours. Distributors buying across the range should read the wholesale production terms.

Questions buyers ask about knickers
What length should we order?
Knee-length for high school, college and most adult programmes. Three-quarter if your buyers want a more modern line. Above the knee only for throwback and retro-styled ranges.
What is the difference between knickers and baseball pants?
The same garment at a different length. Pants run to the shoe; knickers stop at or near the knee so the sock shows. Both can be cut from one design in the same order.
Do you supply the socks as well?
Yes. Socks are produced in your colours to match the knicker and the jersey, which matters because the sock is half of what the knicker is showing.
Will the cuff stay up through a game?
It should. Test it on your sample by stretching the cuff fully several times and checking that it recovers. A cuff that stays loose in the hand will slide down on the field.
Do you make youth baseball knickers?
Yes, and youth is where most knickers sell. Sizes are graded youth through adult and can be mixed in a single order, with every measurement published in our baseball size charts.
